Personal Artwork

As an art teacher, my roles are twofold. My first and foremost role is to be an educator, to guide and assess my students' growth as artists, students, and human beings.

However, I have a second role that is nearly as important as the first. I am a mentor, a role model artist, and in order to fulfill this role completely I need to maintain my own artistic practice.

This section of my portfolio website is where you will find evidence to prove that I really know what I am talking about when it comes to making art.

Clockwise from top left:

  • A self-portrait in graphite on mylar, photographed in a window against a dramatic sky.

  • A photograph documenting the end of my Big Blue project at Mega Brands. Each pixel in this artwork is actually a single MegalBloks brick, and over 60% of them had to be hand-painted in the exact right colour!

  • A selfie in my Pinkie Pie cosplay at Montreal Comic-Con. My handmade purse accessory can be found in the section on Textile Art.

  • Working hard on weaving a story home. More information on this project can be found in my Sculpture section.

  • A publicity photograph taken to promote one of my fundraising live drawing events, where I took requests and drew them on the spot using charcoal, ink, and graphite. All proceeds from this event went to support mental health programs in Montreal.

In my first Live Art event, I was asked to paint a temporary watercolour mural at my local Java U coffee shop as part of my one-month art installation, to promote the launch of their new gallery space.
